WEALTHY WEDNESDAY: Europe’s most affordable capital
It’s not Paris, Madrid or London, but there is a European capital that still exudes the charm of the Old World with some modern-day amenities, according to USA Today. Did we mention you can get a five-star hotel for $116 per night and a dinner-for-town with bottle of wine for $40? We’re talking about Sofia, Bulgaria, on the far eastern end of Europe, just north of Turkey.
Personally, I found this story interesting because I have always had a strange desire to go to Bulgaria. Perhaps, it’s because some of my ancestors hailed from there or perhaps it’s because I’m a bit cray-cray. Will I be hopping a flight tomorrow for the Balkans? No, probably not, but this is still good info for anyone interested in visiting Europe on the cheap.
