Worst Airports for Winter Travel

The tram at DTW might be fast, but the planes aren't.

The tram at DTW might be fast, but the takeoffs aren’t.

Winter kind of came in and smacked us like a sack of bricks, didn’t it? Sixty degrees one day and then 30 the next? Brutal. With the cold temps looking like they’re here to stay, Hopper, an online flight price tracker, decided to join the early winter and released its list of the worst airports for winter travel. The list is based on flight delay percentage and, no surprises, O’Hare is at the top. What is surprising are some of the other airports; they’re not all north of the Mason-Dixon line or from the Snow Belt.

Thankfully, Indianapolis isn’t on the list. Unfortunately, my old go-to airport, Detroit Metro is.

Flyer, beware this winter season!
